1. In ethics, freedom from pride and arrogance; humbleness of mind; a modest estimate of one’s own worth.
In theology, humility consists in lowliness of mind; a deep sense of one’s own unworthiness in the sight of God, self-abasement, penitence for sin, and submission to the divine will.

1 Timothy 6:11 (ESV) But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness (by implication this means Humility). 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Gentleness defined in Strong’s Concordance:
G4236 πρᾳότης = praotēs = prah-ot’-ace
From G4235; gentleness; by implication humility: – meekness.
